Andreani Panayide is a Cypriot educator and cultural practitioner based in London, and the founder of Folkmona, a fashion and education platform established in 2023 that focuses on preserving and sustaining traditional Cypriot crafts through contemporary practice. She holds a BA in Art and Psychology and an MA in Leadership in Education, a combination that informs her belief that cultural heritage must be actively taught, experienced and shared in order to endure.
During her undergraduate studies, Andreani learned Lefkara lace at the Cyprus Handicraft Service, an experience that became foundational to her commitment to craft education and heritage preservation. Through Folkmona, she collaborates with designers and artisans to reinterpret traditional techniques in contemporary garments, while keeping education, storytelling and community engagement at the core of the platform.
Her work has been presented at the REVIVE exhibition in Cyprus and London, the Cyprus Film Festival fashion show, and Athens Fashion Week, introducing Cypriot culture to international audiences beyond its touristic image. Andreani has also delivered talks and workshops at the CVAR Museum in Nicosia.

She completed her studies in the United States at Louisiana Tech University and continued her academic research at the University of Glasgow, combining scientific rigour with a deeply human-centred wellbeing philosophy. A keynote speaker at conferences and national events, she is also regularly featured on television and radio, contributing to public discourse on health, wellbeing and cultural transformation.
Dr. Koni is widely recognised as a pioneer in both community and corporate wellbeing. She has served as a scientific collaborator for major local universities and businesses, advancing evidence-based approaches to nutrition education, organisational wellness and performance. She is also the co-author of a book on inflammation and longevity, reflecting her commitment to science-driven wellbeing education. She actively visits schools to empower children with nutrition awareness, emotional balance and healthy eating habits, while in corporate environments she partners with leadership teams to embed wellbeing into culture and strategy, shifting it from a peripheral benefit to a strategic foundation for engagement, trust and productivity.

PANOS ENGLEZOS
President, Thalassaemia International Federation

Panos Englezos is a graduate of the University of London, holding a degree in Economics and Accounting. He serves as Chairman and Chief Executive of a group of companies that he founded in 1961. His deep and lifelong commitment to supporting patients and parents affected by β-thalassaemia major began in 1969, when his son, George, was born with the condition. This commitment led him to play a pivotal role in the development and promotion of Pancyprian support groups for patients and parents.
In 1986, inspired by the experiences of patient organisations in various countries, including the Cyprus Thalassaemia Association, Panos helped to found the Thalassaemia International Federation (TIF), with a vision and mission to enhance medical care and prevention programmes on a global scale. He was elected as TIF’s first Chairman and is widely recognised as the “founding father” of the international thalassaemia community.
Panos has received numerous awards in recognition of his pioneering efforts in the fight against thalassaemia, both in Cyprus and internationally. These honours include the Lions International Gold Medal for District Governor’s Appreciation in 1982, awarded for his long-term dedication to the cause of thalassaemia patients; the King Abdulaziz University Award in 1993 for his contribution to the establishment of a thalassaemia association in Saudi Arabia; the Gold Medal of the Cyprus Thalassaemia Association in 1996; and the Rotary Paul Harris Fellow recognition in 1997 for his outstanding contribution to society, among many others.

H.E. MR. MANISH MANISH
High Commissioner of India to Cyprus

H.E. Mr Manish is a career diplomat. He joined the Indian Foreign Service in 1997. In his more than twenty-seven years of diplomatic service, he has served in Indian Missions in Moscow, Tashkent, Prague, Colombo, Jakarta and Vancouver. He assumed charge as High Commissioner of India to the Republic of Cyprus on 15 May 2024.
Between his overseas postings, he served in New Delhi at the Ministry of External Affairs, first as Under Secretary in the US & Canada Division and the Foreign Service Institute, and then as Deputy Secretary in the United Nations Political Division from August 2004 to July 2007. He served as Joint Secretary at the Sushma Swaraj Institute of Foreign Service from November 2017 to April 2018, and subsequently as Joint Secretary overseeing India’s bilateral relations with ASEAN countries, Australia, New Zealand and Pacific Island Countries from April 2018 to November 2019. As Joint Secretary (Overseas Indian Affairs) from November 2019 to August 2020, he implemented policies for engagement with the Indian diaspora. Prior to his appointment as India’s High Commissioner to the Republic of Cyprus, he served as the Consul General of India in Vancouver from August 2020 to May 2024, overseeing India’s bilateral interests in the Western Canadian provinces of British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan, Yukon and the Northwest Territories.
Mr Manish has a deep interest in strategic, trade and commercial affairs, development cooperation and diaspora issues. As Counsellor (Economic & Commercial) at the High Commission of India in Colombo from July 2010 to November 2013, he represented India at the Colombo Plan Secretariat and the South Asia Cooperative Environment Programme (SACEP). During Indonesia’s Chairmanship of the Indian Ocean Rim Association (IORA) from 2015–2017, he represented India at various Senior Officials’ Meetings of IORA. As Consul General of India in Vancouver, he regularly engaged with the large Indian diaspora in Western Canada and managed India’s economic engagement with the Western Canadian provinces.
The High Commissioner holds a B.Sc. (Hons) degree in Physics and a Bachelor of Laws degree from the University of Delhi, India. He speaks Hindi, English and Russian.
He is married to Ms Preeti Gupta, and they have one son.

He subsequently worked as a market-maker in Russian sovereign and financial bonds at VTB Capital, consistently generating profitability within established risk mandates.
In 2018, he joined Athlos Capital in Cyprus as Executive Director and Head of the Emerging Markets desk, where he also played a key role in enhancing the firm’s overall execution capabilities. In 2022, Savvas co-founded the deep-value investment fund Equine Capital Partners together with Orestis Hadjipanayis. PAVLOS NEOCLEOUS

Pavlos Neocleous is a prominent filmmaker and entrepreneur, best known as the co-founder and CEO of SEMIO Productions Ltd, established in 2007. Neocleous graduated with distinction from the University of the West of England in 1999 with a BA in Media. He then earned a Master of Arts in Film Studies and European Cinema in 2002, followed by an MA in Filmmaking at the London Film School. These studies gave him a deep understanding of filmmaking and hands-on skills in cinematography.
Early in his career, Neocleous worked in London’s Soho as a compositor, gaining experience in post-production, including editing, compositing, and special effects. As an entrepreneur, he has built a global network, bringing international talent to Cyprus and positioning the country as a competitive hub for filmmakers.
Neocleous’ leadership has been crucial in SEMIO’s success, promoting innovation, quality, and international collaboration. His vision continues to drive SEMIO Productions as a leader in the industry, fostering creativity and excellence in filmmaking.

Dr Androulla Eleftheriou was born in Cyprus and holds a BSc, MSc and PhD in Biochemistry, Microbiology and Virology from universities in London. She has been awarded numerous scholarships by the Government of Cyprus, the World Health Organization (WHO) and the Fulbright Commission. She completed her postdoctoral fellowship at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) in Atlanta, Georgia, USA.
From 1990 to August 2006, Dr Androulla served as Head of the Virus Reference Centre at the Cyprus Ministry of Health (Public Health). Since 2005, she has been Director of the Cyprus WHO Collaborating Centre for Thalassaemia, Haemoglobin Disorders and Rare Anaemias. She has worked closely with the Thalassaemia International Federation (TIF) since 1993, initially serving on a voluntary basis as Scientific Coordinator for TIF’s educational programmes. In 2006, following a proposal from TIF’s Board of Directors, she officially assumed the role of Executive Director of the Federation. She continues to act regularly as a WHO consultant in her field of expertise.
Through her work with TIF, Dr Androulla collaborates closely with the World Health Organization, the European Commission, various regional and international bodies, scientific and medical associations, academia and the research community. Through her leadership at TIF, she has spearheaded numerous joint initiatives with official health-related organisations and agencies, as well as national and regional health authorities and a wide range of disease-specific and non-disease-specific patient and parent organisations.
Dr Androulla has, over the years, served on the Board of the International Alliance of Patients’ Organizations (IAPO) and the European Public Health Alliance (EPHA), and has been a member of the Advisory Board of the European School of Transfusion Medicine (ESTM). In addition, she participated in the European Union Committee of Experts on Rare Diseases (EUCERD) and other European projects. Since 2016, she has chaired the Higher Scientific Committee of the Sultan Bin Khalifa International Thalassaemia Award (SITA), and in 2022 she was appointed President of the National Thalassaemia Committee under the Cyprus Ministry of Health.
Dr Androulla was instrumental in the establishment of the Cyprus Alliance for Rare Disorders (CARD) and played a key role in its development for 11 years, including serving as President. She also held the position of Vice-Chair of the European Hematology Association (EHA) Patient Advocacy Committee for two years. Her contributions to the field include authorship of numerous peer-reviewed journal articles, position papers, books, booklets, factsheets and e-learning programmes over the past two decades.
Her work has been recognised through several prestigious awards, including the Panos Englezos Award (2003) for her contribution to the promotion of TIF’s mission and activities, and the HemaSphere Award (2024) from the EHA for the study “2021 Thalassaemia International Federation Guidelines for the Management of Transfusion-dependent Thalassaemia”, as well as many other accolades from countries around the world. She also received a Certificate in Capacity Building from Harvard University in 2010.

Andreas Themistocleous is a sports business professional with over 20 years of experience.
He currently serves as Vice-President of the Cyprus Basketball Federation. His former roles in sport include CEO of Anorthosis Famagusta FC, Head of Office at the Cyprus Anti-Doping Agency, Lecturer in Sport Management in academia, as well as professional consultant to Panathinaikos BC in Athens, the Limassol Marathon, and other organisations.
Andreas has been extensively involved in European club football management, having served for several years on various steering committees of the European Clubs Association.
A former basketball player for Keravnos Strovolou, he also represented Cyprus as a member of the national basketball teams and previously competed as a Division I NCAA student-athlete for the Old Dominion University Monarchs in the United States.

Andreas G. Karakatsanis is a professional civil engineer and a graduate of the National Technical University of Athens and Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA. He served as director of the technical services of the Municipality of Larnaca for 17 years, until September 2023.
From 1986 to 2006, Andreas was employed by the Ministry of Defence of the British Government as a senior civil engineer at the British Sovereign Bases in Cyprus. From May 2017 to July 2018, he also served as acting director of the Larnaca Sewerage Board (SAL).
Since 2019, Andreas has been a member of the executive team and acting COO of the Cyprus Marine and Maritime Institute, where he also served as a member of the board of directors until 2023.
In January 2024, he was appointed by the Council of Ministers of the Republic of Cyprus to the board of directors of the Cyprus University of Technology and was elected vice president of the board by the university’s senate. He is currently president of the board, following his appointment by the Council of Ministers in July 2025.
